3D Viewer FAQ

Answers for creators, developers, product teams, print users, and 3D artists working with model files in the browser.

How do I open a 3D model file online?

Choose a supported format, upload your model file, and the browser preview opens in a modal. You can rotate, zoom, inspect the model, and reopen it from local history.

Are uploaded files sent to Hyper3D servers?

No. The viewer reads files in your browser and stores upload history in local IndexedDB on this device. The model preview does not require a server upload.

Can the viewer load textures and companion files?

Yes, when the format references companion files, upload the model together with related MTL, BIN, or texture files. Embedded texture formats such as GLB are usually the most portable.

Why does my model appear blank or untextured?

The file may be missing companion texture files, use unsupported material settings, contain inverted normals, or be too heavy for the current device. Try a simpler export or pack textures into GLB.

Which 3D formats does Hyper3D Viewer support?

The viewer supports OBJ, FBX, USDZ, STL, GLB, GLTF, 3MF, PLY, DAE, 3DS, 3DM, STEP, STP, IGES, and IFC for common web, game, AR, print, CAD, and BIM workflows.
