Texture a Model in Three Steps

From gray mesh to engine-ready asset — no UV painting, no plugins, just your model and one reference image.

  1. Step 1 — Upload

    Upload Your 3D Model

Drop in a mesh up to 150MB and check it in a live 3D preview — rotate on the X, Y, or Z axis to set the orientation before texturing.

  2. Step 2 — Reference

    Add a Reference Image

One image sets the direction — its material, colors, and mood drive the texture. Attach up to three references, each with its own history.

  3. Step 3 — Generate

    Generate & Export PBR

Pick a Gen-2.5 speed preset (~4–40s), compare takes in PBR, Shaded, or Toon view, then export as OBJ, FBX, GLB, USDZ, or STL.

One Model, Any Material Direction

The same untextured robot, retextured three ways by swapping only the reference image — real inputs and outputs from the OmniCraft Texture tool.

Photo Reference → Carved Pumpkin

A jack-o-lantern photo turns the plain robot into a carved-pumpkin character, with the wood grain and glossy carving carried across the whole mesh.

Concept Art → Sci-Fi Armor

A stylized armor illustration maps panel lines, visor glass, and worn metal onto the same base mesh — ready for a game-ready look pass.

Toy Photo → Painted Wood

A wooden doll photo restyles the robot as a hand-painted wooden toy, keeping the friendly face and warm lacquered finish consistent from head to feet.

Production Controls, Not a Black Box

Every option below exists in the tool today — speed presets, sliders, version history, and pack settings, all reachable from the same screen.

Native Gen-2.5 Speed Presets

Choose how much compute each pass gets: Extreme-Low (~4s), Low (~9s), Medium (~20s), or High (~40s) — or switch to the Legacy pipeline when you want the previous texture behavior.

Fine-Tune Every Generation

Dial in PBR Temperature (0–10) to control material response and Creativity (0–1) to balance the reference against invention. Keep the seed to iterate on a look you like, and flip the HD toggle for super-resolution texture output.

Version History Built In

Every generation renders onto your mesh with diffuse, normal, and PBR maps applied, then lands in a history rail with thumbnails — jump back to any earlier take at any time.

Pack Exactly What You Need

Choose Shaded and/or PBR material sets at 1K — or 4K on the Business plan. Multi-set downloads arrive as a tidy zip with separate PBR and Shaded folders; a single GLB comes as one file.

AI Textures for Every 3D Workflow

From game props to AR product previews, textured assets slot straight into the pipelines teams already use.

Explore colorways and material finishes on one product mesh — swap a reference photo to test leather, metal, or fabric directions before committing to a studio render.

Feed in illustrations or hand-painted references and get toon-friendly surfaces back — then check them in the dedicated Toon view mode before export.

USDZ export makes assets ready for iOS AR Quick Look, while GLB keeps web viewers and headset pipelines lightweight — textures included, no rework needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What 3D file formats can I upload?

The texture generator accepts OBJ, FBX, GLB, and USDZ models between 5KB and 150MB. OBJ, FBX, and GLB files open in a live 3D preview where you can rotate and orient the mesh; USDZ files are accepted directly with a file-card preview.

How do I control the texture style?

The style is driven by your reference image (JPG, JPEG, PNG, or WEBP). Two sliders refine the result: Creativity (0–1) sets how strictly the AI follows the reference, and PBR Temperature (0–10) shapes the material response. You can also keep the random seed fixed to iterate on a specific look.

Does it generate real PBR texture maps?

Yes. Each generation produces diffuse, normal, and PBR maps plus a Shaded pass, and the browser viewer applies them to your mesh in real time. When you download, you choose Shaded and/or PBR material sets so the asset works in physically based pipelines.

What export formats and resolutions are available?

Geometry can be packed as OBJ, FBX, GLB, USDZ, or STL. Texture resolution is 1K by default, with 4K available on the Business plan. If you select both Shaded and PBR sets, the download is a zip with separate Pbr and Shaded folders; single-GLB downloads come as one file.

How fast is texture generation?

With the Native Gen-2.5 pipeline you pick a speed preset: Extreme-Low targets about 4 seconds, Low about 9, Medium about 20, and High about 40 seconds for maximum quality. A progress bar and queue indicator keep you informed while the job runs.

Can I iterate if the first texture is not right?

Yes. Hit Redo with adjusted sliders, a different speed mode, or a fixed seed — each account has a redo allowance shown right on the button. Every version is kept in a history rail with preview thumbnails so you can jump back to any earlier take. You can also work with up to three reference images side by side.

Do I need to install anything or create an account?

No installation — the whole workflow runs in a modern web browser, including the 3D preview. You do need to sign in to a free Hyper3D account before uploading models and generating textures, and your past texture tasks are saved to a personal gallery you can reopen anytime.

Is the AI texture generator free to use?

You can sign in and generate textures with credits on the free tier. Downloading a packed result costs 0.5–1 credit for regular members (depending on HD quality) and is free with a subscription. 4K texture resolution additionally requires the Business plan.

Will the textures work in Blender, Unity, or Unreal Engine?

Yes. Exports use standard formats — OBJ, FBX, GLB, USDZ, and STL with baked texture maps — so they import into Blender, Maya-style DCC tools, Unity, Unreal Engine, web viewers, and AR pipelines without special plugins.
